It is our mission to educate the public regarding the life-saving benefits of organ donation while raising funds toward continued transplant research.

Organ Donation Awareness and Transplant Research
Donate Life America wants to encourage 40 million more Americans to register as organ donors, and Team Donate Life has committed to being a major part of this effort. Why are we involved in this cause? Please consider the following facts:
- On average, seventeen people die every day in the U.S. while awaiting a life-saving organ transplant.
- The total number of patients waiting for an organ transplant today numbers more than 83,000 (15% of them are Californians). More than 1/3 of them will die before a donor can be found.
- The waiting list for organ transplants is growing at the rate of 1,000 per month. Another name is added to the waiting list every 15 minutes.
The good news is that transplantation is no longer considered experimental. It is a desired treatment for thousands with end-stage organ disease. Each year, approximately 900,000 Americans receive tissue transplants and nearly 25,000 receive organ transplants. In recent years, medical breakthroughs have greatly improved the success rate for transplantation; it now generally runs in excess of 80% for transplants overall.
